Nancy’s Bar-B-Q
Ok so no one can live on seafood alone, even when you are at the beach. In downtown Sarasota we found a hole-in-the-wall place that served the most delicious brisket we ever had. A Jewish woman came up with a dry rub for pork Barbeque and started catering it (all this from her own write up). Eventually she ended up with this charming location. From the outside you might have your doubts, the interior looks like an old cabin with a screened in porch. I even saw a dead rat out in the parking lot. You go to the front and order up what you want. We all had brisket in one form or another. I had an open faced brisket and blue sandwich with succotash made with edamame and macaroni and cheese. Betsy had a lean brisket sandwich with caramelized onions and blue cheese with baked beans and potato salad. Dona had a chopped salad with brisket and excessive amounts of vegetables. Every dish was terrific. We ate at a picnic table from metal military plates while they played old loud rock music. It was a ton of fun and a delight to the taste buds.
